I’ve been training dogs most of my life. I won my first placement in 1972 and never really looked back. Being a second-generation trainer, I grew up around bird dogs, field trials, and some of the finest dog trainers you’ll ever meet.
Over the years I’ve been blessed to train and handle five National Brittany Champions, five U.S. Open Brittany Championship winners, and a pile of regional champions. Brittanys are my specialty, but I’ve trained sporting dogs of just about every breed, along with plenty of companion and obedience dogs.
One thing I’ve learned after all these years is that if you think you know everything, dogs will humble you in a hurry. That’s why I’ve always believed there’s something to learn from everybody.
I still enjoy working a young dog, helping a hunter get more out of his bird dog, or turning a hard-headed pup into a dependable companion. Good dogs, good people, and honest work–that’s what it’s always been about for me.

I am frequently asked what kind of dog makes the best birddog. My answer: a good one! We specialize in Brittanys, but we love and appreciate all breeds. We strive to bring out the best in each and every one.
